Dental Bridges in Richmond
If you have missing teeth, you can talk to your dentist about a dental bridge. A dental bridge is a false tooth that is held in place with two crowns attached to the adjacent teeth. This type of bridge is known as a traditional bridge and is different from a cantilever bridge that is used to fill a gap at the back of the mouth with only one anchor point.
Do I Need a Dental Bridge?
When gaps are left between the teeth, the surrounding teeth can shift out of place, causing misalignment issues. This affects your bite and may cause your teeth to chip and crack. For this reason, you should consult with your dentist and replace missing teeth right away.
Caring For Your Dental Bridge
Brush your dental bridge in the same way that you brush your natural teeth. Be sure to continue to floss around the artificial tooth to catch any food that may get trapped around the gumline. We also recommend visiting your dental hygienist at least once a year to give your teeth a thorough cleaning.
